“Hamburger Patti”: Boy Flips Over Burger Gal

Veteran songwriter/producer/arranger, Marty Cooper, wrote and produced this teen drama send-up — “Hamburger Patti” — that was arranged by seasoned West Coast session guitarist, Al Casey and attributed to The Inconceivables:

“Hamburger Patti”

The Inconceivables (1966)

To my ears, it sure sounds like Casey and Cooper were able to hire some of Los Angeles’ more seasoned musicians (is that Hal Blaine on drums?) to help bring this song to life.  Released in 1966 on Columbia (coupled with “Patti’s Theme“), “Hamburger Patti” would later be given a new life when included on California USA, a 2-LP hodge-podge of 60s/70s regional hits and forgotten singles that Columbia Records thoughtfully assembled in the hope of attracting new ears to “old” (by 1981 standards) sounds.

Would you be surprised to learn that this 45 release is the sole offering by The Inconceivables?
